The Sigma Nu Fraternity was founded on January 1, 1869 at the Virginia Military Institute. Sigma Nu was founded as The Legion of Honor and still holds this value true as it remains the only social fraternity standing in opposition to hazing. Sigma Nu is the first general college fraternity to offer risk reduction policies and a comprehensive membership education program, remaining committed to both our mission and vision for over 145 years. The members of Sigma Nu hold themselves to the highest standard of values rooted in Love, Honor, and Truth.
